Obituary Notice, Henry C. Lucas, III

Henry C. Lucas, III, formerly of Gladwyne, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 19, 2026, at King of Prussia Nursing & Rehab. He was 94 years old.

Born on November 1, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Henry was the son of the late Henry C. Lucas, Jr. and Bernice Toland Lucas.

From 1950 to 1952, Henry proudly served in the United States Army as an enlisted specialist, stationed at Herzo Base in Germany. His service reflected a lifelong commitment to duty and country.

Mr. Lucas also served as President of the Board of School Directors for the Lower Merion School District from 1978 to 1979, demonstrating his dedication to education and his local community.

Henry was the beloved husband of the late Ann Lucas (née Grady) and a devoted father to Henry C. Lucas, IV; James G. Lucas (Tina); Anne K. Lucas; Susan Albano (Rocco); and Mary H. Hain (Kevin). He was a loving grandfather to Colin, Sophie, Charlotte, Tristan, Gianna, Sydney, and Lucas, all of whom brought him immense pride and joy.

A distinguished attorney, Henry was a partner and co-founding member of Lucas and Cavalier, LLC. Over the course of his accomplished legal career, he was admitted to practice in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Prior to founding his firm, he served as a partner at Rawle & Henderson and as special counsel to Duane Morris and Heckscher, both in Philadelphia.

Henry earned his Bachelor of Science in Economics from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce at the University of Pennsylvania and received his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law in 1960. His professional life was marked by dedication, integrity, and a deep commitment to the practice of law.

Henry will be remembered for his devotion to family, his distinguished career, his honorable military service, his commitment to education, and the lasting impact he made on those who knew him.
